Introduction
Number Portability Clearinghouse (NPC) is designed for regulators to introduce and administer number portability and simplify port processing for service providers. It ports all number types through one comprehensive and centralized system, ensuring a simple, secure, and scalable platform that helps meet all regulatory mandates and national number portability requirements.
Design Objective
Using a newly established Design System and other iconectiv products as reference, redesign this legacy application with an emphasis of focusing on modern Design Principles as well as consistency amongst the company’s other applications.

Empathise, Define, and Ideate

This was a Business-to-Business (B2B) application as the users were employees of the various clients. As there are multiple clients that each consist of various countries around the world, each client's application has some differences from the rest due to preferences, language, and legal reasons. Because User Interviews for the creation of a new Design System had already taken place before I joined, it was up to me to take the reins and make sure that the developers followed what was set in stone. Taking some user feedback into account and making updates to the Design System, I was able to define how these newly designed applications would look and feel.
Prototype and Test

The next phase was interesting, as it wasn't your typical Prototype phase. While I created some basic wireframes in Axure and even PhotoShop, most of the time I would take what the developers had started and make changes to the screenshots in either application. Rather than creating designs before development, they were being created at the same time, and as such there was a lot of back and forth between myself and the developers. After I baselined screens, developers would finish the code, and members of the team, including myself, would test the application.

The Solution

As requested, this new version utilized a Login screen, and instead of having a Home Page that required the user to then select which page to go to, we decided on starting the user on one of the most used pages (the List of Ports page) to shorten the steps it would take for them to get there.
